Proyectos para nuevas montañas II (2018/2019) arises from an investigation that is conceived as a narrative and material dialogue between different places and landscapes.

Through the study of its different processes of construction and transformation, a dialogue is proposed between three specific places: Teufelsberg -an artificial mountain built on the outskirts of Berlin with rubble from the II World War-, Mount Athos -a sacred mountain in Europe, in which women are currently prohibited from entering- and Turó de la Rovira, an urban mountain located in Barcelona, ​​which has been hollowed out and remodeled throughout history, as a reflection of the history of the city.

Taking as a starting point the fact of the creation (nominal, physical, mythical) of the mountain, Mercedes Pimiento works on the notion of landscape as a social construction, paying special attention to the layers (of sediments, of memory) that constitute it.
