Superintendente substituído, 2020
Watercolor and collage on cardboard
24 x 35 cm
Caio Reisewitz creates these works under the influence of the triple crisis that is happening in São Paulo, the city where he lives. At the time the artist composed these collages, São Paulo was the most COVID-19 contaminated territory in all of Brazil. Likewise, this health crisis joins the fight of various governments against the country’s president, because he did not believe that citizens should be isolated, he defended that the population should continue working and producing. Furthermore, these events overlap with the environmental crisis of the Amazon fires. The artist classifies it as a “triple apocalypse” based on chaos.
